Stages of Process Automation
Transformation of data is manually performed by the knowledge worker. The transformation process is totally dependent on the knowledge worker even when assisted by office productivity tools or other software applications.
Assisted Process Automation
A software robot is launched by a knowledge worker to assist in the transformation of data by performing a predefined set of actions. All other aspects of data transformation is performed by the knowledge worker.
Single Process Automation
A process controller is setup to recognize real world events that would initiate a single process to transform data. The controller then launches the software robot that performs the predefined set of actions.
Process Flow Automation
The full process flow is automated using a process execution engine. The process engine recognizes events that would initiate the process flow. Each process may launch a software robot or create a task for a worker.
